Cinema Day, Shahrivar 21, is dedicated to recognizing the role of cinema in Iranian culture and the arts.

Since then, Iranian cinema has become a significant part of the country’s artistic landscape, reflecting social and cultural issues through film.
In 2000, cultural and artistic authorities officially designated Shahrivar 21 as Cinema Day and added it to the Jalali calendar to honor the achievements of Iranian cinema and provide an opportunity for discussion about its challenges and future.
Since its establishment, the day has been marked by special events, film screenings, and professional gatherings across the country.
