Mehregan (Jashan of Mihr), Mehr 16. This festival is one of the oldest Zoroastrian observances, dedicated to Mihr (Mithra), the divinity of covenant and friendship. Mehregan holds a prominent place in the Zoroastrian calendar and is considered the second most significant celebration after Nowruz. On this day, Zoroastrians gather, recite Avesta, and perform traditional rituals to honor the values of friendship and agreement. Mehregan also coincides with the harvest season and the beginning of autumn, historically carrying economic and social importance.
